Makeup looks we’ll be wearing on July 19th

After what felt like months of clouds making us think that we would never have a summer at all, this week’s heatwave has finally got us in the summer spirit. With the lifting of restrictions just on the horizon, freedom feels so close we can almost taste it, and you bet we are already planning our glam routine for our first proper post-pandemic night out!

Whether planning for a night at the bar with the girls, a date in a fancy restaurant, or your holiday evening glam, summer makeup has got us all super excited. Here are some of our favourite makeup looks that we are going to be wearing as the weather hots up!

Bold red lip

@sarahbroadgatemua

A classic red lip is a show-stopping look that works for all seasons. From your Christmas party to your summer soirée, this look is one that never goes out of style.

In the hotter weather, going for a pared back base and then bringing the glam with a bold lip colour is an ideal way to create an eye-catching look, without the stress of your makeup wearing off in the sun. Adding in a red lip is also a great way to take your glam from day to night!

To recreate Sarah’s look:

Step one: Start by creating a glowy base with the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser, and cover any blemishes with the NARS Soft Matte Concealer

Step two: Add in some radiance and sculpt your visage with the Iconic London Sheer Liquid bronzer and blusher. Use a beauty blender or your fingers to blend it out for a subtle glow.

Step three: Decorate your eyes with a subtle gold shimmer using the shades Spur and Hold’em from the Urban Decay Naked Wild West Eyeshadow palette. Use a fluffy brush to blend out the colour smoothly.

Step four: Apply fluffy lashes of your choice to make your eyes pop. We absolutely love the volume of the ‘Take it and go’ pair from Velour Lashes.

Step five: The moment you’ve been waiting for: it’s time to apply your red lip! Take the NARS Powermatte Pigment in the shade Don’t Stop and apply all over your lips, very slightly overlining along the cupid’s bow.

Green dream

@georgiaoxleymua

As the weather hots up, we all love to include some colour in our makeup looks. Green is the colour of the season and is beautifully complimentary against lots of skin tones and eye colours!

A shimmery eye will never go out of fashion, and this look can be adapted to multiple occasions from nights out, to festivals. If you prefer to go bigger with your eyes than your lips, then this look is perfect for you!

To recreate Georgia’s look:

Step one: Create a dreamy base that will last all day with the Note Beauty Extreme Wear Mattifying Foundation. Top off your golden look with the benefit Hoola Caramel Bronzer using a dense fluffy brush.

Step two: Define your brows and create a naturally fluffy look using the Maybelline Tattoo brow Micro Ink Pen. Designed to mimic the appearance of brow hairs, apply in light strokes to create a natural look.

Step three: Create your beautifully shimmery eyes using the Lime Crime Venus XL II palette. Build up the colour using a flat packing brush and blending together the shades Myth and Ivy until your eyes are as bold as you want them to be.

Step four: Add a nude lipgloss of your choice. We love the high shine, nourishing formula of the Bobbi Brown Crushed Oil-Infused Lipgloss in the shade Sweet Talk.

Step five: Make your makeup look last all day and night with the cult-favourite Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray!

Blue flames

 @isabelleikpeme

If you’re sick of doing the same winger liner look over and over again, then it’s time to experiment with your liner looks this summer!

For those who enjoy making a statement with their makeup, this fun liner look is perfect for you! Ideal for a festival or daytime event, this glowy, colourful look is bound to get heads turning.

To recreate Isabelle’s look:

Step one: This looks starts with an ultra glowy base, so start by applying the Clinique Even Better Glow Light Reflecting makeup. Blend out using a brush or your fingertips for a fresh dewy glow.

Step two: Take your bronze to the next level with the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Matte + Glow Bronzing Trio. Featuring two matte bronzers and a shimmery highlight, use the bronzer to sculpt and the highlight to give you a natural, iridescent glow.

Step three: Now it’s time to create the flames! Use a bold blue liquid liner to sharpen the inner corner, then draw outwards along the brow bone, following the natural shape of the eye. Once you reach the outer corner, use the precise tip to create your flamey flicks. Draw as many or as few as you like until you’re happy with how it looks! For this look, we adore the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Metallic Liquid Liner in the shade Teal Metal!

Step four: Finish off with a light coating of a lengthening mascara such as Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara, and a natural lipgloss, you want all the attention on the eyes for this look!

As someone with an affinity for all things beauty, discovering fantastic new products is my not-so-secret obsession. Over the years I've tried and tested a mountains worth of creams, serums and cleansers, finding some of my favourite 'holy-grail' products along the way. However, I'm always on the lookout for more ways to nourish my hair, perfect my dewy base, or enhance my skincare routine. Working as a beauty blogger for over 3 years, I've been lucky enough to collaborate personally with lots of amazing beauty brands including Christian Dior, The Body Shop and Dermalogica. I've used the Dermalogica special cleansing gel religiously since I first got it and their products are some of my ultimate skincare faves. When it comes to cosmetics, NARS Sheer Glow foundation is definitely my go-to - I live for a light, glowy base!
