How did you begin your career in the beauty industry?

I began my career working as a beauty therapist, in my local salon in Surrey. I studied straight beauty therapy from school and have worked in the beauty industry since.

What has been the highlight of your career?

The highlight of my career to date certainly has to be becoming an educator. I enjoy helping others and sharing my industry experiences with my delegates and colleagues. Helping others to further their knowledge and career has given me my biggest career highlight, self-satisfaction and personal reward.

What does your daily skincare routine consist of?

Cleansing and toning is key, which I do every morning & evening to remove any traces of make-up and pollution. I follow this with my Darphin beauty ritual that consists of using 3 key products. My serum to correct and repair my skin concerns, my face cream to protect my skin from the environment and acts as a great base for my make-up, and finally I cannot live without my essential oil elixir at night to rebalance and detoxify my skin from all my daily aggressions. When I wake in the morning my skin looks fresh and ready to start the day again.

What is your hero product and why?

What is your beauty secret?

My top 3 beauty secrets are drinking lots of water, at least 8 hours sleep per night and a weekly boosting ritual. I always exfoliate and use a mask weekly on my skin, to shift away any dulling dead skin cells; this also improves the performance of my daily products. Followed with a radiance boosting mask, to give my skin that extra pick me up through the week!

Should your morning and evening skincare routines be different?

At night it is important to feed your skin with a richer product while you sleep. At night is when your skin comes alive and your skin cells are 3-4 times more active between 2am – 4am than through the rest of the day! At Darphin we always suggest adding one of our essential oil elixirs into your evening routine. We believe they are richer than just using a cream at night and will repair your skin cells while you sleep. So when you wake the following morning the skin is fresh, radiant and hydrated, ready to face the day ahead.

Are there any emerging skincare trends coming up that excite you?

For me it is definitely using a hybrid product which transforms in different textures during application! So special yet sophisticated and gives many more benefits than just using one type of product, that contains one type of texture, or ingredient!
