Review: Alterna Caviar Seasilk For Fine Hair
Alterna Haircare are leading industry experts, and have created a range of shampoos, conditioners, styling agents and treatments that use natural ingredients and plant actives. This makes them an ideal brand for anyone searching for more gentle formulations in place of brands that rely on chemicals. They have a great range of collections for different hair types, but due to my fine hair, I was drawn to the Alterna Caviar Seasilk Volume collection, which contains a Shampoo and Conditioner.
Both the shampoo and conditioner are free from parabens, phthalates, sulphates and other chemical nasties that could potentially cause irritation to the scalp and damage the hair fibres. I love this as I am interested in both natural skin and haircare, so am always on the lookout for natural alternatives to some of my favourite brands!

What Does Alterna Caviar Seasilk Volume Aim To Do?
The collection itself has been inspired by the technology used in skin plumping products to help amplify the hair fibres and leave them looking thicker. It also works to keep colour protected and fine hair lifted at the roots.
Review Of The Alterna Caviar Bodybuilding Volume Collection
I only sampled the Shampoo and Conditioner from the range, and I think I would have had better results if I had used the whole collection. I enjoyed using the products as they felt extremely luxurious, but I didn't feel that they added a huge amount of volume to my hair. They didn't weight it down either, which was great. My hair felt clean, soft and smooth after blow drying, so all in all I would still use the products, I would also just need to voluminous styling agents into the mix! I did however love that both products were made with natural ingredients and no nasty chemicals; that's always a bonus for me!
The Shampoo
You only need a small amount of this as it lathers up extremely well! I used too much on my first attempt and it felt too heavy for my hair, but by the second time, I had got the amount just right. It really feels like its cleansing your hair and the smell is beautiful; almost spa-like. Make sure to rinse out thoroughly, as I missed a tiny bit on my first attempt and my hair felt sticky. On my second attempt however. my hair was left looking much softer and smoother than previously, and I have to thank the shampoo for that!
The Conditioner
Again, you only need a small amount of the conditioner, and like I always recommend, only apply to the ends of your hair. If you do struggle with dry and damaged fibres, then opt for styling oils or creams once you've towel-dried your hair. Conditioners will only weigh your hair down, which no one wants! I combed the conditioner through so my ends felt super-smooth, and once I had blow dried my hair, it felt much softer and shinier than it had before.
