In 1975, a bright and excited medical student took a summer job in the Photobiology Lab of Harvard Medical School; she had no idea it would spark her path to becoming a skincare visionary. Dr. Loretta Ciraldo was one of the first to perform early testing on the effects of UVA on human skin in the days before broad-spectrum sunscreen was created and contributed to the development of the Fitzpatrick Skin Type Classification.

Dr. Loretta Ciraldo is now a practicing board-certified dermatologist for more than 41 years and has performed tens of thousands of total body exams where she's seen an increase of damage in skin exposed to the world (like your face!) compared to the skin protected by clothing (like your lower back). As no other skincare line on the market was designed to address this discovery holistically, she created one herself.
