The Yves Saint Laurent Beauté brand was founded on the legacy of the Yves Saint Laurent fashion label. Known for creating beautiful lines of clothing that celebrated womanhood, the brand decided to take this love affair one step further in 2000 and partnered with L’Oréal to celebrate the female face too. Just as in their clothing, the Yves Saint Laurent Beauté aims its product range at a younger, fresher audience whose eye-catching creations can turn heads and show that makeup isn’t something that should be treated according to trend, but used classically, unapologetically and uncompromisingly.
Stephen Brezy, the global president at Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, believes that his brand is cutting edge, taking the best of Parisian culture and turning it into France’s leading breakaway couture brand. He recognises that the brand has roots in scandal, freedom, and youth, which is a message he wants to echo in the women who use his makeup products – from the use of their Touche Éclat Highlighting Pens to Tatouage Couture Lipstick shades.
