Reinforce soft, fragile nails whilst adding elasticity and support with Mavala Nail Shield. This two-phase nail strengthener builds up weak nails giving them resistance and preventing them from breaking.
The nail plate is composed of three layers, but it is naturally the visible, outer layer that is particularly sensitive to outside elements and can very easily be damaged by too much sun, cold weather or detergents. The unique formula of Mavala Nail Shield has been developed to give nails resistance, protecting them from daily tasks and other damaging elements. The nail can then correctly regenerate and strengthen itself, its growth being protected from breaking, flaking and impacts.
Directions of Use:
- Phase I: Apply a coat of Nylon Fibre Base over the entire nail and allow it to dry. This forms a trellis over the nail.
- The nail will be slightly rough.
- Phase II: Apply a coat of Sealer and let it dry completely.
- If the surface remains rough use another coat.
- Once the nail is smooth continue your manicure.

This product made my nails so much worse. They peeled terribly, the tips of my nails just crumbled, spilt and broke. The polish turned my nails like an orange colour very quickly and then cracked and peeled off after a couple of days.

I ve been buying this for years and always have a new one on standby because I can’t bear to run out there’s nothing else as good Because of the mesh layer then the top layer it gives your nails an almost gel like strength It does go gloopy after a while like most nail products but I ve bought the Mavala thinner to use which does the job to eek out the last of the bottle

Essential for peeling/splitting nails
I have always looked after my nails, but having gone through the ravages of chemo the drugs have taken a toll on them. Despite wearing dark polish to reduce their exposure to UV light and regular use of nail/cuticle oils and creams, 9 months after my last dose of chemo, my nails, while much improved, were still peeling and splitting like nobody's business so I thought I'd give this a go since I'd tried almost everything else the more well known brands like O.P.I., Essie, Sally Hansen and Nails Inc. had to offer. This is a 2 part formula; the first coat is a nylon substance which bonds the nails and stops them from lifting at the ends. The second coat is the sealant; the nylon coat, no matter how carefully applied, is somewhat rough and uneven to the touch - this second formula fills the ridges and smooths and seals the nylon underneath, I always go for 2 coats of this. It's a pale pinkish colour which looks fine on it's own, in fact it'very much resembles a natural nail colour on my pale complexion so can be worn alone or used as a base coat under another coloured polish. I remove it once a week with acetone and reapply. Although it says it can be removed with regular nail polish remover. I have not tried this as I prefer to use acetone since it's the quickest way to remove any polish so it's not in contact with the nails as long and doesn't dry the nails out as much if followed with a good nail oil (you're welcome for the free tip!) Anyway, back to the review. This is finally seeing an end to nails to be embarrassed about and I am looking forward to being able to go colour-free during the summer and finally getting some length going on. I recommend keeping the nails as short as possible during treatment in order to see the best results. So far it is working for me and i will be recommending it to the many women I know who are also struggling with chemo-nails and even those who aren't. Thank you, Mavala!
