Trusted and Needed Base
Trying the bareMinerals 'Original smoothing Face Primer' a few years ago changed, or 'upped' how much I love bareMinerals, and I now would never change from the combination of this and the bareMinerals Original Loose Foundation. (Before I was even hesitant to go out in rain as that would leave clearly visible streaks and spots {!} on my face, but that, for me, changes completely when using the Smoothing Face Primer underneath. It sits beautifully silky on the skin after being allowed to 'sink in' a bit / after a few minutes (I've found, for me, it works best to let it sink in quite a bit / for a few minutes, but still be slightly wet when applying loose foundation, - as it then grips the foundation, but is set enough for the brush I use for the foundation not to leave streaks on the skin (as it can if I am too much in a rush). I have reactive, Rosacea prone skin that reacts to a lot of products, but neither this nor any other bareMinerals product has ever caused any kind of adverse reaction, but rather it seems my skin underneath is better when I use bareMinerals then when I have days going without makeup.

Has an oil like consistency - I usually go for oil free options but my skin has been quite dry over the past year so I thought I should go for this one as something more general. It felt too oily for my skin and I thought actually made my pores more noticable after application! I can't say my makeup looked much better with it underneath. Maybe for other skin types but not for my combination skin.
