- Application: Shake the bottle before using and between sprays. The more you shake, the better. This step is key to preventing white residue. Separate your hair into sections, hold the bottle 12” away, and spray into your roots. Use a little or a lot – it depends on what you need. Don’t forget the back of your head. I know the point is that there's less scent, but I think what is there is lovely - works well to get an extra bit of mileage out of hair before washing. I find any of these products do leave at least some white cast, but it usually brushes out fine for me unless I really overdo it with the spray and I have dark hair.
