This luxurious healing cream has been praised throughout the years by beauty editors, make-up artists and models alike. Created in 1930 to soothe skin, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant became an instant and overwhelming success.
The combination of petrolatum, a skin-soothing beta-hydroxy in one of its first cosmetic uses, and vitamin E make this apricot coloured balm effective and beneficial for those emergency skin moments. Miss Arden also famously used it to soothe her thoroughbred horses' legs!
Directions of use:
- Warm a small amount of the balm in your hands and massage over face for an instant ‘sleep in a tube’ effect. Use sparingly.
- Apply topically to minor skin irritations including blemishes
- Use to treat extremely dry skin conditions on the face or body
- Massage into elbows, knees, nails and feet for an overnight healing effect.
- Application: Simply apply to hands, feet and everything in-between for long lasting hydration.

No match - No substitute
There are NO words to accurately praise this product. I have been a faithful user of this magic in a tube for longer than I can remember. I use it on skin abrasions, cuts, kitty scratches, dry hands and arms, and lips. I try to stay out of direct sun, but this past summer I ended up getting a touch of sunburn. I applied this to my face, and the next morning my face was pain free and touchable. It wasn't red anymore either. I have combination skin with acne tendencies, and I never broke out. Recently, I started using tretinoin 0.01%. Day 1 was fine. Day 2 fine. Day 3 my face was intensely red, burning, and even water hurt it. I first tried Indigo cream from Tatcha. Ouch! Zinc. Aloe. Still ouch. LaRoch Posay. Nope! So, I applied the 8 hour ointment one night before bed. I woke up, and there was a dramatically noticeable difference in pain reduction, red burning irritation, and was touchable. After about 3 days use, it was barely noticeable. I've waited about a week now before I try the tretinoin again, but this time I will be coating my face with the 8 hour ointment after putting it on. I'm expecting good results this time. I praise all of Elizabeth Arden products since I was 14yo. Loyal to the end!!

This was in my basket for ages, I though is it really worth it? 100% yes!
