Kérastase’s first pre-shampoo hair treatment, suitable for all hair types, removes excess calcium and helps visibly repair all types of damaged hair. This includes damage by heat tools, colour treatment, bleaching, over-processing and other types of hair damage.
Calcium in water can further damage already delicate over-processed or bleached hair. Being more porous, damaged hair can absorb up to 3 times more calcium than natural hair. This hair treatment is formulated with a concentration of 8% pure citric acid and glycine and has a dual action: it decalcifies hair from this calcium overdose and works to repair its appearance, helping to visibly restore hair strength and reverse its stiff, dull appearance. Once excess calcium is removed, this product which is formulated with the amino acid glycine, works to deeply repair the feel of strands. Hair is left stronger, healthier-looking, and shinier – as if renewed.
- When to Use: Before shampooing.
- Application: Apply generously onto wet lengths. Massage throughout. Leave on for 5 minutes. Don’t rinse.
- Routine: Layer with the Kérastase Première Decalcifying Repairing Shampoo, then rinse out both. Finish with the Première Decalcifying Repairing Conditioner as the final step.
- Citric Acid: An organic acid that neutralises dullness and stiffness by removing calcium overdose
- Glycine: An amino acid that helps to visibly repair and reduce breakage

My new favourite from my hair routine
I did not know what to expect from this pre shampoo treatment, but after few uses I have been very impressed with the improvement of my hair. Every at work noticed the difference, my hair became more shiny and much more stronger, my hair colour looks more shinier. I really love my new hair routine.

Shiny and smooth
The Kerastase Premiere Decalcifying Pre Shampoo Treatment is super easy to use. It’s makes my hair feel smooth and look shinier. It smells amazing which is a plus. I use this every other day before shampooing. Great results when you pair it with the Premiere shampoo and conditioner.

Pre shampoo treatment
The bottle looks sleek and the instructions were easy to follow. I liked the idea that this would help to refresh hair and get rid of any hard water buildup. Hair felt clean and shiny after using. Only con was that it stung my skin slightly when a bit got on my face.

As someone who works with haircare, I definitely pay attention to what is the best possible option for me and my hair goals. My hair was bleached multiple times and after using the pre shampoo treatment, I have noticed that my hair definitely felt healthier and less damaged. I experienced a lot of less breakage as well, which is really important. If you are someone who wants to invest in good haircare, I would highly recommend. The products also smell very fresh, which is an absolute plus from me. Please buy the whole range if you would like the routine to be more effective.

Wouldn't recommend for coloured hair
Unfortunately, this product just wasn't for me. Positives: is smelt amazing and did leave my hair feeling nice Negatives: unfortunately the combination of products stripped quite a lot of colour from my hair, considering it's meant to be safe for coloured hair.

New go to product!
I’ve never heard of a pre shampoo treatment before trying this but I don’t think I’ll be going back now! It’s a weird combo of gel and oil at once but feels nice rubbing into your hair, not sure if my hair is just super dry(it has been coloured) but it takes a good amount of pumps to thoroughly work it through my long hair. I’m not 100% sure what it is doing for my hair but I do know it’s working and my hair feels great! The scent is definitely more masculine but so clean!

Good quality product
I liked the overall result using this alongside the shampoo and conditioner as it left my hair feeling nice and soft and clean. My only negative is that when using it as part of your usual morning routine when trying to wash your hair quickly, having to leave it on for 5 minutes before applying shampoo adds a bit of extra time to your morning shower (plus having to leave the conditioner on for 5 minutes too adds even more time).

Firstly this Kérastase Première Decalcifying Repairing Pre-Shampoo Treatment smells amazing. The bottle looks high end and premium. The product is silky and smooth and glides onto your hair. It feels like an expensive salon treatment but at home. It made my hair feel healthier and strong. It also made my hair look so shiny. I have thick hair that never holds onto smells however after using this my hair smelt like it for days after. I would definitely buy this product again and highly recommend it.

This makes it feel like an expensive salon treatment at home. It made my hair feel really strong and look renewed. My hair also looked really shiny and glossy and felt really clean. I have thick hair which never holds onto smells however after using this, my hair smelt like it for days. I would definitely buy this product again and would highly recommend it.
