Great for combination skin

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is hands down the best cleanser I have ever used. I have combination skin so it’s great for properly cleansing oily areas without drying out your face. I’ve found that I barely get any blemishes or spots since using it and have no sensitivity using it around my eyes.

I absolutely adored this product and have used it for years. It always cleansed my face without any sensitivity and left the perfect amount of hydration. This new formula is NOTHING like the old one which is devastating. Why ‘fix’ something that is not broken. Bring back the old formula !!!!

Bring back the original !!

My skin finally was clear and healthy after using the original effaclar h cleansing cream, bought this new formula at expense and it’s no match for the original, I’m so disappointed. La Roche-posay had a brilliant product before that was well loved by many and this new stuff is so drying, my skin feels tight, itchy and angry after using it. Very very annoying they’ve changed a product that did not need fixing !!

Disappointed

This is a new formula. It’s not what I’d call a cream cleanser; this one has sodium laurel sulfate in it, so it foams. It does not leave my skin feeling nourished and hydrated. I’ve been using this for 2 months and have had the worst breakouts in years. La Roche Posay… I’m so disappointed, bring back the old formula please!

Incredibly drying!

I have used the original cleansing cream for about 4 years now and I absolutely adore it. I was saddened to hear that it had been reformulated. I was intrigued and gave it a trial run. I have combination skin and upon first use my skin felt squeaky clean and not in a good way. My skin just felt zapped of all it's moisture and then my skin started to break out. I knew my skin barrier wasn't happy at all. I used this product in conjunction with the effaclar duo+ moisturiser that I absolutely adore. I felt the two together were just too much for my skin so I use the moisturiser with the hydrating gentle cleanser. I really hope the original formula makes a comeback, it was my utmost favourite cleanser of all time.

Not a fan at all. The product is drying on the skin and is a foamy cleanser. Also feels like it doesn’t clean the skin properly.  I miss the old hydrating cleanser I’m praying that it comes back in stock soon. It was so much better

Disappointed

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have used the effaclar hydrating cream for a long time and really disappointed that it’s now been discontinued and replaced with this cleanser. I found that this cleanser isn’t a cream cleanser as it foams up a bit and leaves my skin feeling really tight, I also suffered with dry eyelids after using this product which I have never suffered with before.

Don’t love as much as the hydrating cleanser

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

I’ve been trying to get a hold of my usual cleanser the effaclar hydrating one but it seems to be sold out everywhere so I bought this one in the hope it would be similar or at least a good substitute whilst I wait  for my favourite one to come Back. I’ve got on ok with it so far but I don’t love it. My face feels quite dry after using it so I’m having to compensate by using a thicker day cream otherwise I’m way to dry. Also find if I use this in the morning and night my skin feels a bit stripped. I have combination skin and frequently get small breakouts on my chin, I think it’s been good for those but the rest of my face not so good.

Drying

Not a fan of this, very drying, I now have dry skin on my eye lids which I’ve never had with any cleanser before. I also don’t like that it foams because it is hard to wash off, compared with cream / oil type cleansers which come off easily with a face cloth.
