Ideal for all hair types, the nourishing and revitalising formula cleanses and refreshes from the roots through to the ends without over-drying or stripping locks of their beneficial oils. The powerhouse shampoo delivers an intense detox to help revive stressed strands, purging the hair of dirt and grime to encourage a stronger, glossier and silky-smooth finish.
Apply to wet hair. Lather. Rinse. Follow with conditioner. Use in place of regular shampoo as needed. For hard water buildup removal, leave on for 1-2 minutes before rinsing.

Made a real difference to my hair.
This product left my hair feeling super clean but also soft and hydrated. It may surprise people that it’s a black paste (I guess the word “charcoal” should have warned me!) and quite thick. It also did not lather after the first application, but I did manage a lather after the second. This did not put me off as I am accustomed to sulphate free shampoos that do not lather. I followed it by applying a light conditioner and my hair, once styled, felt wonderful. My hair is extremely coarse and corkscrew curly in it’s natural state and needs weightless moisture and I’m pleased to say this product did the trick. I am looking to try more Living Proof products now if this shampoo is representative of the quality of this brand.

Not impressed
Having read wonderful things about this shampoo I can only say I was not impressed. My hair was soft and very fluffy , quite unmanageable. Did it remove product build up, yes it did, just my hair neither looked nor felt nice. Sorry this was not for me and I cannot recommend it.

Great for oily hair
I have a dry, flaky, itchy scalp but oily hair. It's confusing. This is a really great shampoo though. I use the regular PhD shampoo and conditioner whenever I wash my hair, but I needed to get rid of some product buildup and help my oily hair. This really really helped. I feel like my hair is more balanced after I use this, and it's great for removing buildup and helping my hair stay cleaner for longer. I use it about once a week.
