Philip Kingsley’s Overnight Scalp Barrier Serum with Triple Balancing Action is formulated to nourish the scalp’s natural barrier. The fast-absorbing formula is applied as drops to sections of the scalp, working to lock in moisture and minimise excess oil.
Powered by a Triple Balancing Action alongside aloe vera and AHA’s, the serum gently exfoliates and clarifies, while delivering a soothing sensation. The scalp serum is designed to be used overnight while you sleep and is suitable for all scalp types.

- When to Use: In the evening, the day before you wash your hair.
- Recommended Amount: 2-3 drops per section.
- Application: Fill the pipette by pressing down on the top of the dropper. To dispense, gently press again. Apply directly to the scalp in 4-5 sections, using 2-3 drops per section. Massage over your scalp gently. A soothing sensation can be expected. Do not rinse. Upon waking, wash and style as usual. For best results, repeat every evening.

Used in the lead-up to my wedding!
I used this for 4 weeks in the run-up to my wedding as I normally suffer from seasonal dandruff going into warmer months and didn't want any visible flakes on my big day as I have very dark brown hair. I used a dropper full of the serum most days as directed, but not necessarily at night as suggested on the box. I don't wash my hair every day so it allowed the serum more time to penetrate my scalp (btw it feels cooling/a little bit tingly when first applied). It doesn't make hair greasy unlike hair oils, so there isn't any need to rinse out, it dries down very nicely and isn't noticeable, no white flakes or oiliness etc. In terms of scalp soothing, it definitely works, it's moisturised mine enough to the point where I managed to combat my seasonal dandruff and eliminate flakes without the need for stripping/clarifying shampoos which can dry hair out. I would recommend using this on all hair types if you have itchy scalp or flakes or sensitivity when brushing.

Totally impractical nice product
I was kindly offered this product to review by LF 🙏🏼 As someone with oily roots and dry ends I wanted to give it a go. To use the product, the instructions tell you to apply it every night before washing your hair in each morning to give the producf a chance to work. 'Oh', I thought, I rarely have chance to wash my hair in the morning, let alone EVERY day. Usually I'm a 2/3 times a week girl and with 3 kids to get to school, there's absolutely no time most mornings. So practicality wise, it's very impractical to use... unless, of course, you have the time to apply the night before and wash your hair each morning. I did manage to use it one Sunday when I had a pamper day. I applied it in the morning and washed my hair in the evening. The product was easy to apply to my roots. The product was a good consistency - wasn't too runny or too thick. It had a nice fresh smell and felt slightly tingly and warming on my scalp. I didn't notice any difference however. But then you need to use it regularly for it to work and unfortunately, for me, this isn't possible.

The serum leaves a lovely cooling and soothing sensation when applied to the scalp. I usually use an anti-dandruff shampoo, but I haven’t needed to when using the serum, which has been a brilliant benefit for me. I can also leave washing an extra day, as my hair doesn’t look or feel greasy, it looks healthy and is manageable. The bottle recommends 2-3 drops of serum per section, but I don’t think this would be enough for most people, so if you’re using it every wash, you’ll probably get through the bottle quite quickly. Overall though, I’m very pleased with the results.
