Banish those brassy tones taking the richness out of your brunette hair with the Redken Color Extend Brownlights Shampoo. Specially created for both natural brunettes and hair that’s been highlighted, the blue shampoo uses cool pigments to combat warmth and unwanted orange tones. When used regularly, the shampoo rebalances and revitalises the colour of your hair, leaving it truer to when you walked out of the salon. It’s best used four to six weeks after colour treating your hair, helping to prolong the intensity and vibrancy of your look, whether that’s micro lights or balayage.

Use as a complete system with Color Extend Brownlights™ conditioner. Wearing suitable gloves, apply to wet hair, lather and leave on for 3-5 minutes. Rinse. Follow with Color Extend Brownlights conditioner. In case of contact with eyes, rinse them immediately.

Game changer

I was sceptical about this product’s claim as my blondey ends had become quite orange. I hoped the shampoo would make the brown dyed hair darker but didn’t think it would do anything for the blonde. I gave it a go and was seriously impressed. The brunette colour is so much deeper (also hiding my mouse roots) and the blonde ends fade really nicely into the brunette whilst looking a whole lot less brassy. I’d recommend this to anyone who is predominantly brunette with blondeish/ light brown ends. It’s Saved me a few salon trips to get my roots seen to. Only with I’d bought the conditioner too!

Unreal smell

Used for the 1st time yesterday, hair feels fuller and softer. Not really keen on using gloves when washing my hair though. I would have a very sensitive scalp and this product did not cause any problems

Colour extend brow lights shampoo

I tried this shampoo, having brown hair with natural blonde and copper highlights. First of all, do as directed and wear gloves, as the shampoo has a lot of blue pigment in it and it does make a bit of a mess. While I didn’t really notice any enhancement to my colour, it has left my fair feeling soft (if a little staticky) and it still looks fresh after 2 days.

Luxurious feel and hair smells glorious.

Luxurious feel and hair smells glorious. Rinsed really well even though we have quite hard water. Normally use Tigi brand so the 250-300ml bottle size might be an issue but I liked it so might stump up when I'm feeling more flush

Could use some improvement

All my hair products are Redken so was looking forward to testing their colour extend brownlights shampoo. Not sure if wearing gloves will be a requirement going forward but I had to wear gloves to use it. It seems to have brightened up my highlights and my hair feels soft but it’s definitely not as smooth or as silky as my hair normally is from using a Redken shampoo. My hair felt as though I was using the Clean Maniac shampoo - it didn’t really lather up much even after a rinse and repeat. I think if they could make improvements to these things then I would definitely consider using it in future.
